At RevitalizeMD we are proud to offer Sciton’s Joule platform which includes the Tunable Resurfacing Laser. This Laser provides great results with minimal downtime.
A MicroLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to improve texture and provide a more youthful appearance. It provides superior results because it can be administered with great precision. The procedure can be custom tailored to your specific skin conditions and desired outcome.
The MicroLaserPeel’s beam scans a treatment area to remove a very thin layer of the skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area. The result is healthier-looking skin, often with reduced wrinkles and improved color evenness. Clients often remark that it looks like their skin went from looking “tired” to “vibrant.”
The MicroLaserPeel can be used to treat mild wrinkles, scars, keratosis, sun damage and pigment irregularities on any part of the face and body. Often one treatment is enough to achieve your desired results. However, we will often combine complimentary therapies to optimize individual outcomes.
During the procedure your skin will be cleaned, and your eyes will be covered with safety shields. The laser handpiece is positioned above the skin, with a nurse holding it in place as the computer-guided scanner assesses the treatment area. The procedure usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes.
One of the primary advantages of MicroLaserPeel is that it causes little discomfort, as it does not penetrate deeply into the skin. A topical numbing cream can be used if a deeper treatment is being performed, to ensure patient comfort.
Immediately after the treatment, clients typically notice that the skin has a slight “frosty” appearance. This is dehydrated skin that peels away gradually in the days following the treatment. Clients may experience some skin redness, a sensation resembling sunburn, as well as mild swelling. Depending on the depth of treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work within 3 to 4 days – which has given rise to the nickname “the weekend peel.” Our clients are given a post-procedure care protocol to allow the best healing and skin protection to ensure optimal results.
Because only the outer layer of skin is treated, most patients notice an obvious improvement in tone, texture and color evenness approximately 3-4 days post-treatment.
